Hey loves,
Merry Christmas! 🎄✨
As I sit here with my hot chocolate (extra marshmallows, obviously), I can’t stop smiling thinking about last night. Being back at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland felt like the most perfect holiday gift to myself. And honestly, as someone born and raised right here in London, it hit differently this time. There’s something so special about returning to these festive grounds during the holidays—places that have been part of my childhood winters for as long as I can remember.
The air was crisp, the lights were twinkling like stars brought down to earth, and the whole place had that warm, buzzy British Christmas energy that just feels like home. I headed straight for the iconic Carousel Bar—yes, the one with the gorgeous golden poles and that big “Carousel Bar” sign glowing above. I couldn’t resist striking a little fun pose under it, hand on hip, laughing like I’d just stepped into my own Christmas movie.
Then I turned around and walked slowly onto the moving carousel platform. The rotation was so gentle, almost dreamlike, and the music mixed with everyone’s laughter and clinking glasses created this perfect little bubble of joy. Surrounded by people in cozy coats, sipping mulled wine and chatting away, I felt completely immersed in the magic.
I wandered around the inner bar area, looking for the perfect spot to sit and just soak it all in. When I finally found an empty stool, I sat down, turned to the camera, and let out the biggest, happiest smile. In that moment, everything felt right—the lights, the gentle spin, the festive glow. It was one of those rare, quiet, perfect Christmas moments you wish you could bottle up forever.
Being British and growing up with these winter traditions makes experiences like this even more special. Hyde Park at Christmas isn’t just a tourist spot for me; it’s part of my story, part of what makes the holidays feel like coming home.
If you’re in London (or planning a trip), do yourself a favor and go. Bundle up, grab a mulled wine, and let the magic wrap around you.
Sending you all the warmest holiday hugs,
Victoria
xoxo
